Fire Hydrant Flushing

The annual fire hydrant flushing will start on October 3rd.

Multiple crews will be working from both sides of the city.

This will take approximately one month.

During this time, and when a crew is in your immediate area, you may experience low pressure intermittently along with some discoloration in the water due the disturbance of natural mineral deposits that form on the interior walls of the water main system. This is harmless and running your water for a short period of time from your highest or furthest faucet from the street will clear it up. The screens in your faucets may need to be cleaned.

I apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Any changes in your normal service or if the discoloration persist, please contact me at (540) 267-3149.
