The library is launching a new service to help patrons get the internet access they need! RPL is now offering one-hour computer use sessions by appointment in the library’s community room. Please call (540) 731-3621 if you’re interested in this new service. Library staff are pre-screening patrons with a short list of questions over the phone prior to confirming a scheduled computer use time. The questions are as follows:
· Have you tested positive for COVID-19? Have you been around anyone that has tested positive for COVID-19?
· Do you have a fever or is anyone in your household experiencing a fever or having had a fever in the past 72 hours?
· Are you or anyone else in your household experiencing shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, or coughing that is unrelated to any diagnosed medical conditions (ie allergies).
Once scheduled, patrons will be required to wear masks covering their mouth and nose while in the library. Staff are also required to wear masks within the library. Temperatures will be checked with an infrared thermometer upon entering the building and must be lower than 100.4 for admittance to computer services. Computer keyboards and mice are covered in plastic and changed after each patron for your safety. Chairs and tables are wiped down following each computer use. RPL endeavors to maintain a safe environment for patrons as staff. Grab & Go Holds and Prints is a continued service!
We thank you for your patience with RPL’s new service and procedure as we work toward opening. We’re looking forward to greeting computer users!
