About the Programs
CDBG is the Community Development Block Grant from the Federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). The program's purpose is the development of viable urban communities through the provision of the following, principally for low-and-moderate income persons. The objectives of the Community Development Block Grant program is to benefit low/moderate income persons, aid in the prevention or elimination of slums/blight, to address urgent community needs, and affordable and safe housing.
Eligible projects include, but are not limited to public services, emergency home repair, public facility improvements, etc. Applicants must demonstrate that the selection of clients is an objective process and subrecipients may not limit participation on the basis of age, race, gender, nationality, ethnicity, religion, familial status, disability, or sexual orientation.
