Request for Proposals (RFP) 2018-2010-LAP
The City of Radford is seeking expressions of interest from consulting engineering firms who wish to be considered to provide professional engineering services for Phase I of the Tyler Avenue (Rt. 177) - East Main St. (Rt. 11) Connector project (State Project Number U000-126-106 / UPC 76402).
This project begins on Tyler Avenue (Route 177) at the southernmost Auburn Avenue intersection. It proceeds northeast on a new alignment approximately 1600'. Auburn Avenue east of Tyler Avenue will be re-aligned to tee into the proposed Phase I Tyler Avenue to East Main Street Connector (Approximately 800’). The proposed connector consists of two 11 ft. lanes with a 10’ wide shared use path on one side, curb and gutter separated by a 16 ft. raised grass median. The proposed design speed is 35 MPH. Be advised that this is a locally administered, federal aid and state aid project and will be in accordance with the VDOT Locally Administered Projects (LAP) Manual.
The City of Radford reserves the right to accept or reject any or all proposals received, as a result of this request, to negotiate with any qualified firm, or to modify or cancel in part or in its entirety the Request for Proposal, if it is in the best interest of the City of Radford to do so. This request does not commit the City of Radford to provide any payment for costs associated with the preparation of proposals submitted in response to this Request for Proposal.
The City of Radford reserves the right to alter the project delivery method at any time during the contract period. The City of Radford will notify the consultant of such decision, revise the scope of services and respective man-hours. The change will be implemented utilizing an additional task order or supplemental agreement based on the contract type.
