The Radford Fire and Emergency Services Department received a grant from the Department of Labor through the Mount Rogers Workforce Development Council. The grant was for $11,790 and was used to train seven employees as Emergency Medical Technicians. The grant was through the Pathways to the American Dream project.  The New River/Mount Rogers Workforce Development Board (NR/MR WDB) was awarded $6 million from the United States Department of Labor as part of their America’s Promise initiative to enhance workforce development capacity through an education and training system that adapts quickly to the changing needs of businesses.  Radford was excited to receive funding through the grant to help train several members of the new Fire and EMS staff.
