The Radford Public Library now offers e-book lending through Freading! Looking for an e-book? Now through the Library of Virginia, the library is offering additional choices through the Freading online collection. Our patrons in good standing have access to the titles in this collection. Access to these titles are based on the number of tokens allocated to your account. Freading is a digital service from the same folks who bring you Freegal Music. Go ahead, try it out, browse for e-books from Freading.
Every Monday morning, you are given 5 tokens. Each e-book download uses between 1 and 4 tokens, depending on demand for the book. Unused tokens rollover for 4 weeks. After 4 weeks, all tokens reset to 5 again.
The loan period is 2 weeks. After 2 weeks, they can be renewed for another 2 weeks. Renewals for the newest titles cost 1 download token, but older books renew for no cost.
Downloading requires both an active library account in good standing (bar code and pin required for download) and an Adobe ID.
Freading is compatible with most e-readers and mobile devices including:
Barnes and Noble Nook
Apple iPad and iPhone
